Tommy James is an American singer, songwriter and producer whose work with the Shondells produced enduring 1960s hits including “Hanky Panky,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Mony Mony,” “Crimson and Clover” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion.” After the original group era, he continued as a solo artist with recordings including “Draggin’ the Line” and remained closely identified with the pop-rock and psychedelic-pop sound he helped shape.
