Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats are an English psychedelic rock and doom-metal band formed in Cambridge in 2009 by guitarist and vocalist Kevin Starrs. Often shortened to Uncle Acid, the group combines heavy, fuzz-driven riffs with melodic psychedelic pop, proto-metal, vintage production and imagery drawn from cult cinema and horror. Breakthrough albums Blood Lust and Mind Control established the band as a major name in modern heavy psychedelia, followed by The Night Creeper, Wasteland and the cinematic Italian-horror-inspired Nell’ Ora Blu. Signature tracks include “Death’s Door,” “I’ll Cut You Down,” “13 Candles,” “Mind Crawler,” “Waiting for Blood” and “Melody Lane,” with the 2026 single “Don’t Let It Control You” leading into the album Shapes of Midnight.
