Waka Flocka Flame is an American rapper whose aggressive delivery, chant-driven hooks, and bass-heavy production helped define the sound of early-2010s Atlanta trap. Born Juaquin James Malphurs and raised largely in Georgia, he broke through with “O Let’s Do It” before releasing the 2010 album Flockaveli, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and produced signature tracks including “Hard in da Paint,” “Grove St. Party,” and “No Hands” with Roscoe Dash and Wale. “No Hands” became his biggest crossover hit, reaching the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Diamond certification from the RIAA. His catalog also includes Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family, the Gucci Mane collaboration Ferrari Boyz, the Salute Me or Shoot Me mixtape series, and songs such as “Round of Applause” with Drake and “Get Low” with Nicki Minaj, Tyga, and Flo Rida.
