Wolfmother is a powerhouse of 21st-century rock revivalism, blending thick, fuzz-laden guitar riffs with primal psychedelia and thundering rhythms to create a sound that pays homage to the classic sludge of Black Sabbath while also channeling the retro-garage energy of the White Stripes. Their self-titled debut in 2006 catapulted them into international stardom, thanks to hits like "Woman" and "Joker And The Thief," which continue to resonate with fans around the world.
Formed by lead guitarist/vocalist Andrew Stockdale in Sydney, Australia, Wolfmother spent several years honing their craft before bursting onto the scene in 2006. Their debut album was a massive success, earning quintuple platinum certification in Australia and significant traction globally through film and television placements as well as relentless touring. In 2016, they released "Victorious," an album recorded in Hollywood with Brendan O'Brien at the helm, showcasing a slightly expanded lineup that included Josh Freese and Joey Waronker on drums alongside Stockdale and keyboardist Luke Peres.
