Yohay Sponder is an Israeli stand-up comedian and actor known for bilingual comedy that mixes cultural observations, relationships, Jewish and Israeli identity, social tensions and an unapologetically direct point of view. Raised in the Golan Heights, he developed his career in Israel’s stand-up clubs before becoming a major force in the country’s English-language comedy scene, particularly through Funny Monday, the long-running Tel Aviv showcase he developed with fellow comedian Shahar Hason. Sponder has appeared on Israeli television and radio, performed on the American comedy program West Coast Comedy, acted in the Israeli sitcom Kupa Rashit, and built an international audience through touring and viral stand-up clips. He also co-hosted StandUp4Israel with Hason, using English-language comedy and conversation to address Israeli life, culture and current events for an international audience.
