Mathame, the Italian duo of brothers Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli, built a distinct identity through cinematic techno, melodic house, and dub-influenced electronic music. Their sound pulls from classical training, film, science fiction, and electronic experimentation, giving their work a scale and atmosphere that feels both emotional and immersive.
The project took shape while the brothers were living in Sicily near Mount Etna and helping run their family’s bed and breakfast, with that isolation and environment feeding directly into the music. Amedeo’s background in violin and Matteo’s work in film also help explain why Mathame’s music feels so visual, dramatic, and carefully built.
