About The Wizard of Oz at Sphere

The Wizard of Oz at Sphere is an immersive 4D film experience created specifically for Sphere's 160,000-square-foot interior display, presenting MGM's classic 1939 musical fantasy at 16K resolution. The original film's visuals were enhanced with AI, its musical score re-recorded and delivered through Sphere Immersive Sound's 167,000 speakers, and multi-sensory effects — including haptic seats, custom scents, and environmental simulations — are used to make audiences feel as though they are traveling alongside Dorothy through Oz. At the conclusion of the screening, guests are led into an atrium transformed to resemble the Emerald City, where they can interact with a life-sized replica of the Wizard's throne room.

The venue seats around 17,600 guests and is designed to deliver fully immersive audiovisual experiences, with a beamforming audio system capable of directing sound to individual seats.
