Discovering King Tut’s Tomb is a self-guided immersive exhibition located on the Atrium level at Luxor Hotel & Casino. The experience follows archaeologist Howard Carter’s historic 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun’s burial site, guiding visitors through detailed recreations of the tomb’s chambers. Displays include replicas crafted by Egyptian artisans, including the shrines, sarcophagus, nested coffins, death mask and the young pharaoh’s mummy. Educational sections explore Tutankhamun’s life, ancient Egyptian gods, the importance of the Nile and the rituals surrounding mummification and royal burial. An optional virtual-reality experience places visitors inside the tomb as Carter first encountered it, while an available audio guide provides additional historical narration. Produced by Imagine Exhibitions, the attraction typically takes around 45 to 60 minutes and is an educational walk-through experience rather than a live stage production.
